Myth and Moderns

I’m struck by the ability modern man has to tell mythic tales, the ability to bring to shining life stories of fantastic wonder and awe.

Yet at the same time man runs further and further away from the meanings of those myths and stories.

We can sit in a theater and wonder at the beauty of nature on the screen, see the world as a magical place.

Yet in the real world we pollute and scar the world without care – that we treat the human race like a throw away commodity, that we pillage the world that supports us and treat it like mere capital.

Myth needs a life again.  It needs to be honored and restored as a teacher and not as entertainment.
